Go Orange. End Hunger.
Did you know that orange is the official color of hunger awareness? As NYC’s major hunger-relief organization, Food Bank embraces this powerful symbol of our mission every September with our month-long Go Orange to End Hunger™ campaign—a citywide call to action for all New Yorkers to become inspired, involved and engaged in the fight against hunger in our city. Follow what Food Bank and our neighbors are doing on social media with #GoOrangeNYC!
Nothing Grows On Empty
For every person that goes hungry in our city, someone’s potential to care for themselves, their families, and be a great neighbor, is severely limited. We are asking New Yorkers to participate in our first ever anti-hunger story-telling campaign by sharing just what that looks and feels like for them. Share your story by answering these two questions: What is one thing you could NOT do on an empty stomach (e.g. prepare for a major presentation or work your second job)? What is one thing you CAN DO to help end hunger (e.g. volunteer at my local food pantry or host a food drive at my job). You can share your story as a text response, video, GIF, even a drawing, and share it on social with the hashtag #nothinggrowsonempty. We’ll be reposting/sharing your stories all month long! You can also submit your story here and we’ll share it on your behalf on our social platforms!
THANK YOU TO OUR CAMPAIGN PARTNERS & SUPPORTERS
GO ORANGE. GET SOCIAL.
All month long, we’ll be reposting what our friends, fans, and followers post on social media using the hashtags #GoOrangeNYC and #NothignGrowsOnEmpty. Whether you’re posting a factoid on hunger awareness in your community, a photo of your and friends doing anti-hunger service, or just participating in our story-telling campaign by telling us what you can’t do on an empty stomach, we want to feature YOU this September! We’ll also be highlighting our Orange Champions, those New Yorkers who are going the extra step in the fight against hunger. See all the action on our social wall below…your story could be next!
